The Antenatal Health Camp at Nalmuti PHC served as a meaningful platform for B.Sc Nursing 7th Semester students to engage in community healthcare and maternal care services. Conducted under the guidance of the Institute of Child Health – Faculty of Nursing (ICHFN), the Antenatal Health Camp at Nalmuti PHC focused on supporting expecting mothers through awareness, basic healthcare services, and compassionate interaction.
Promoting Maternal Health and Awareness
The Antenatal Health Camp at Nalmuti PHC emphasized the importance of maternal health by providing essential care and education to pregnant women. Students actively participated in health assessments, basic check-ups, and awareness sessions on nutrition, hygiene, and prenatal care.
Through direct engagement, expecting mothers received valuable guidance on maintaining a healthy pregnancy, recognizing warning signs, and adopting safe health practices. This initiative contributed to spreading awareness and improving community health outcomes.
Hands-on Learning and Skill Development
The Antenatal Health Camp at Nalmuti PHC offered students an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-life healthcare settings. By interacting with patients and healthcare professionals, they enhanced their clinical skills, communication abilities, and confidence.
More importantly, the experience helped nurture empathy and a sense of responsibility—qualities that define true nursing professionals. Such community-based programs play a vital role in shaping skilled, compassionate, and dedicated healthcare providers for the future.
