The School Health Programme by B.Sc. Nursing Students at the Institute of Child Health – Faculty of Nursing (ICHFN) showcased the dedication of our future healthcare professionals to community service and preventive care. The program engaged students of the 5th Semester (2023–27) in interactive health education sessions and practical demonstrations, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, nutrition, oral health, and healthy lifestyle habits. The School Health Programme by B.Sc. Nursing Students played a vital role in creating awareness and fostering a healthier future for children.
Interactive Health Education for Children
During the School Health Programme by B.Sc. Nursing Students, children participated in engaging sessions where they learned about proper hand hygiene, balanced diets, oral care, and daily habits that promote overall wellness. Students conducted practical demonstrations, helping children understand the importance of these habits in a fun and interactive manner.
The program also included health check-ups, where students monitored vital signs, guided children on maintaining good health, and provided tips for preventing common illnesses. This hands-on experience allowed students to translate theoretical knowledge into meaningful community service.
Building Compassionate and Skilled Healthcare Professionals
The School Health Programme by B.Sc. Nursing Students not only benefited the children but also enhanced the clinical, communication, and organizational skills of the participating nursing students. By interacting directly with the community, students learned empathy, patience, and effective ways to educate diverse audiences about health.
Such initiatives prepare our future nurses to serve society with dedication and compassion, instilling a sense of responsibility toward public health and creating a positive impact on the community.
