Celebrating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s Birth Anniversary

The Institute of Child Health Faculty of Nursing recently celebrated Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary with immense pride and enthusiasm. Students and faculty members paid heartfelt tributes to the legendary freedom fighter who inspired generations. The event included cultural performances, a visit to Mahajati Sadan, and activities that honoured Netaji’s legacy.

The celebration began with students dressing as Netaji’s soldiers and other freedom fighters, bringing history to life. They performed songs, recited poems, and showcased the spirit of India’s freedom struggle. The highlight of the event was a visit to Mahajati Sadan, a historic auditorium in Kolkata. Built in 1939, Mahajati Sadan played a significant role in India’s freedom movement. Rabindranath Tagore, who laid its foundation stone, called it the “House of the Nation.”

During the visit, students learned about the auditorium’s rich history and its connection to Netaji. They explored the seminal hall, where seminars and cultural events are still held. This experience deepened their understanding of India’s struggle for independence and Netaji’s contributions.

The Netaji’s Birth Anniversary 2024 also featured:

  • Cultural Performances: Songs and dances inspired by the freedom movement.
  • Dramatic Presentations: Students reenacted key moments from Netaji’s life.
  • Interactive Sessions: Discussions on Netaji’s vision and leadership.

By celebrating Netaji’s birth anniversary, the Institute of Child Health Faculty of Nursing not only honoured a great leader but also instilled a sense of patriotism and pride in its students. Such events remind us of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and inspire us to uphold their values.
